Avant worked with Plan International on an Action Research and Documentation of Best Practices regarding the EU Funded Integrated Approaches to Child Protection Project.
The initiative aimed to assist vulnerable children, particularly girls and children with disabilities facing risk of violence including sexual abuse, in urban and rural areas of Kisumu, Nairobi, Mombasa, Kwale and Kilifi Counties — strengthening child protection systems by promoting local participation and ownership at the family, school, and community levels.
Avant conducted the research in the aforementioned counties, designing research tools, training field assistants, and conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs).
